“Henri Labrouste: Structure Brought to Light” at the Museum of Modern Art

On view now at the Museum of Modern Art, “Henri Labrouste: Structure Brought to Light” charts the career of the celebrated 19th-century French architect behind Paris’s Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève and Bibliothèque nationale, arguably two of the most beautiful libraries in the world. Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design Barry Bergdoll walked ARTINFO through the exhibition, which, through various architecture models, drawings, and film, expresses how Labrouste’s influence continues to resonate — however indirectly — in architecture today.
